Kingsland Road – Dirty Dancer EP

After a stint on last year’s X Factor and writing with some AMAZING music producers, Kingsland Road are back with their debut single AND EP for you to feast your ears on.

At Brumotions, we are here to give you a track by track breakdown of what to expect for the 4-track EP and we have to say that we were more than pleasantly impressed!

kingslandtoputonblog

Dirty Dancer:

As the lead single from the EP – Dirty Dancer is instantly catchy and shows off the group’s fun personalities. It’s a great summer anthem, which will put you in a good mood and leave you singing along.

Though we’re still not sure what a Cherry Chancer is… (Comment your ideas below!)

The song is somewhat different to the sound we had previously heard from the band during their time on the X Factor and it cements their place within the music industry as the band they always wanted to be, however, we do miss those cheesy dance moves.

Walk Away:

Walk Away is the edgiest track by far, detailing a failed romance, the beat of this track builds and falls to showcase the smooth and faultless vocals of the band.

The track has a great likability and is a great crowd-pleaser during live shows and seems to set them apart from the other countless boybands on the market.

Shoreline:

Shoreline is a bouncy, upbeat track, which makes you want to dance along to the infectious beat.

The track gets off to a slow start but builts into a song, which you can’t help but keep playing on repeat.

The song showcases the vocals of each member and the addition of Connor’s rap gives the song a great dynamic and summery feel.

Never Too Late:

Never Too Late is the slowest song on the EP and shows a different side to the normally energetic lads that we’ve grown to love. However, it’s a great ending song for the EP and leaves you wanting to hear more from the boys.

Kingsland Road’s Dirty Dancer EP is available NOW on iTunes and Amazon!

Kingsland Road are Dirty Dancing into our hearts!

Kingsland Road impressed their dedicated fans at their SOLD OUT show at the O2 Academy in Birmingham last night with a jam packed, energetic performance!

The East London formed group came to Birmingham as part of their debut tour across the UK.

KingslandRoadBirmingham.jpgThe group consisting of Matt, Connor, Josh, Jay and Thompson entertained both the old and new K-Landers with a range of songs, including the one’s that are set to feature on their EP, which will be released August 10th!

Four support acts were included during the gig, acoustic performers Jess Havens and Ellie Rose’s vocals wowed the sold out crowd during their own twenty minute sets!

Then Canary Swing took to the stage, bringing an incredible amount of energy and talent with them that left the crowd wanting more, before rapper Jessica Alice took to the stage with an equal and amazing amount of stage presence to those before her.

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for, Kingsland Road ran onto the stage and performed ‘Walk Away’, a track set to appear on their EP, which their highly dedicated fans had already learnt the lyrics to and proceeded to shout them back to the ecstatic lads.

The boys incredible set featured tracks for both the old and new fans, including a small, hilarious performance of ‘My Dog’ for the older fans and a cover of Ellie Goulding’s ‘Burn’, which was posted to their YouTube channel in February.

MattKingslandRoadBirmingham.jpg

The group, more popularly known for appearing on the tenth series of The X Factor, had the packed venue singing and dancing along throughout their entire performance, ensuring that everyone was thoroughly entertained!

Kingsland Road rounded off their incredible performance with their debut single ‘Dirty Dancer’, which is another track to feature on the groups debut EP!

We definitely recommend going to see Kingsland Road live as they have the talent (both singing and dancing) and an impressive setlist, which is without a doubt, going to take them far. We have no doubts, that – like they did last night – the group will keep you thoroughly entertained and leave you wanting more!

Mike Dignam – ‘Hurt’

After completing an array of successful headline tours and a support slot with the incredible 5 Seconds of Summer (in both the UK and their home country Australia… If you couldn’t tell from those amazing accents).

Mike Dignam is back with his debut video and the lead single from his new EP ‘It was Written’ in the form of the incredible track: ‘Hurt’.

10374865_10152945534273265_435517952132156486_n

On his travels around the country, Mike has amassed an army of dedicated supporters, who have joined Mike during his musical journey from gigs in the park to large headline tours!

The song showcases Mike’s strong and hauntingly beautiful vocals and leaves you wanting to keep listening to find out more – meaning you want to listen to the track from start to finish.

The song is filled with emotion, especially with the repetition of ‘hurt’ during the chorus, which leaves you completely immersed within the lyrics.

The Video is a great addition to the track and works well with the song, showcasing Mike’s natural talent.

However, although we love the song, we can’t help but think that this tune is slightly too dark to join our current ‘summer anthem’ obsession.

Check out the video and Let us know what you think!

Mike is also embarking on a UK tour see the dates below and Pre-Order his EP – ‘It was Written’.

The impressive set also contained a number of hilarious sections where the band and the crowd laughed along with one another – like when the lads spoke to ‘god’ who was watching the show from above to hear the boys perform their ‘Grocery Store Rap’.

Although the group entertained and impressed with their relentless energy and catchy tunes, attendees were stood waiting for an hour for the first support act to arrive – though it is speculated that another support act skipped out on the show.

Canary Swing Just Wanna Dance With Somebody!

After touring around the country with FutureProof, Canary Swing ended the tour with a BANG at the London Islington Academy on June 1st, alongside artists such as Tich, Rewind, Kingsland Road and many more!

Embedded image permalink

Canary Swing, made up of Ben Crook (Bass), Sam Blake (Drums), Cory Gaffney (Guitar) and George Crump (Vocals & Guitar) entertained the audience with an array of pop/rock originals, each with a summery and feel good sound which left us humming along to the tunes hours after.

The group finished their set with crowd favourite ‘Second Star to the Right’, which gained an electric reception and is also the band’s latest single which can currently be bought through ITunes!

They also left the audience dancing around to Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ which was an unusual but incredible cover choice for the young, pop/rock band.

Canary Swing had great audience interaction as the lads entertained the relentless crowd – who were looking forward to the artists placed later on the bill – introducing each member as sexy, which gained large cheers from an array of dedicated fans, some of which had travelled far to see their favourites!

Overall we enjoyed Canary Swing’s performance – although this band had previously gone unnoticed by our Brumoters, we were slightly unsure at first and took a little while to get into the group, but we instantly began to like the boys who grew on us throughout their set and therefore we would like to find out more about this band!

Canary Swing’s EP ‘The Flight’ is out NOW!

What A Night with the Loveable Rogues!

On June 1st, a large number of fans had travelled from across the UK to the FutureProof party at the Islington Academy in London, for which the incredible Loveable Rogues were the headline act!

Joined by a large number of other acts, including FutureProof, Kingsland Road, In Hindsight, Canary Swing, Rewind and the Loveable Rogue’s friend Tich, the lads thoroughly impressed the packed crowd.

Loveable Rogues, consisting of Sonny, Té and Eddie – more well known for coming in fourth place during their time on the sixth season of Britain’s Got Talent – entertained the crowd at the end of the afternoon with an incredible performance, which had both old and new fans singing and dancing along.

It was obvious to see that the trio enjoy performing live and are very humble when listening to the fans singing their lyrics back to them and dancing along to their tunes.

The group made sure to include fan favourites Love Sick and What A Night to their setlist, which gained the largest response from the crowd who waited through 4 hours of other performers to hear these guys play and it was well worth the wait!

‘Honest’ from the boys EP of the same name (which is currently available on ITunes!) also made an appearance on their impressive setlist. The alternative pop track is very catchy and those who weren’t fans of the lads previously were able to catch on and sing along with them.

We definitely recommend that you see these boys live as their tracks are catchy and their live performance is impeccable!

It’s Never Too Late to love Kingsland Road

On June 1st, many teens flocked to the Islington Academy in London for the FutureProof party, featuring FutureProof (obviously!), Loveable Rogues, Rewind and of course, Kingsland Road – just to name a few of the acts which appeared on the jam packed line-up.

Embedded image permalink

We recently reported on Kingsland Road and how much we LOVE what they’re doing and after hearing their new material, which will feature on their EP (out August 17th) – it will definitely not disappoint!

The band seem to have steered away from the ‘X-Factor’ image that had swamped them – swapping those brightly coloured, matching suits for a more edgier style, which also seems to be reflected within their new musical direction.

But don’t worry!

This is NOT a bad thing! Kingsland Road are still those cheeky charmers that you (and we) fell in love with – we are FINALLY seeing the REAL Kingsland Road through the music that they always wanted to produce! – On their own terms!

The band, consisting of Jay, Josh, Connor, Thompson and Matt (Left to Right) sent the venue into a complete uproar as many ecstatic fans had traveled from around the country to hear the group’s new material.

Their set was both energetic and fun, with a number of new tracks being performed including Shoreline and Walk Away. However, the lads did break out into some of our older favourites like Lemon Tree which featured some good ‘ol Kingsland Road thrusting!

Kingsland Road mid thrust

Kingsland Road’s cover of Ellie Goulding’s Burn had both the crowd and the band jumping, leaving behind an electric atmosphere and had everyone claiming that it was better than the original!

The fivesomes vocals were undeniably strong (even though Connor tweeted that he had a cold), their set seemed particularly polished, even though it’s a fairly new set-up and these songs have been performed only once or twice before!

kingslandroad futureproof1

The friendship between the lads is obvious within their stage presence and it’s clear to see why they perform so well with one another!

Kingsland Road finished their set with Heaven Knows – during which a number of incredibly lucky girls were serenaded by the boys as they jumped into the crowd, a smaller numbers of those girls also got particularly friendly with both Connor and Josh as they tugged up their shirts to feel their abs (looks like someone has been hitting the gym).

kingsland road futureproof2

Here at Brumotions, we definitely recommend that you see Kingsland Road live!

The band are embarking on their own tour in August, in an effort to promote their new single ‘Dirty Dancer’ and their EP, both of which are released in August!

Although the Birmingham gig has already SOLD OUT, why not try and see the lads elsewhere as the journey will be well worth it!

Everything’s All Right with FutureProof

In a huge send-off to a fellow band member, FutureProof performed a packed Gig/Party at the O2 Islington Academy in London and thoroughly entertained their ecstatic fans, along with other guests who were invited along to perform.

FutureProof, consisting of Kiran, Jonni and their now, ex-bandmate Charles, who will be missed! (Left to Right) entertained the crowd in the middle of the gig – we suppose they wanted to party the rest of the night away to properly send Charlie off – which was well deserved after their incredible performance, which rounded off their UK tour!

Embedded image permalink

Joining FutureProof and performing throughout the afternoon were a number of amazing acts, such as Jake Sims, Canary Swing, Rewind, Tich, In Hindsight, Kingsland Road and the headliners of the party, Loveable Rogues!

The bass-pop trio that is FutureProof shared their relentless energy and fantastic performance with the eager crowd – some of which had been queuing to see the group’s last gig with band-mate Charlie since 8am!

SAM_0010

The group made sure to include fan favourite’s ‘Good Vibes’, ‘Party Hard’ and ‘Everything’s Alright’ into their setlist, which obviously gained a positive response from the fans who proceeded to scream the lyrics back to the slightly emotional lads.

Although Charlie has now officially left the group, Jonni and Kiran promised the fans that this will not be the last we see of the lads and we sure hope not!

We definitely recommend that you see these boys on tour at your next given opportunity as they’re incredible live with a number of catchy tunes in their arsenal.
