12 Days of Brumotions: Fall Out Boy – ‘American Beauty/American Psycho’

On the 4th day of Christmas, Brumotions gave to you…

A Fall Out Boy single review

ab-ap

American Alt-rock band Fall Out Boy are back with their newest and interesting release ‘American Beauty/American Psycho’, which is currently AVAILABLE to download!

The track will be featured on and shares it name with the band’s sixth studio album, which is set for release in the UK on January 19th.

‘American Beauty/American Psycho’ (which is being shortened to AB/AP) is an odd track… to say the least, with an even stranger music video – which we can’t help but like!

“We turned left when everyone expected us to turn right” Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz told Radio One’s Zane Lowe after its first airplay, which we completely agree with!

Although their newest track is slightly similar to a number of the group’s other releases, it does see the lads heading towards a harder and heavier rock route.

Though we’re sure we’ll be playing the track on repeat as it’s an incredibly catchy, punk track from the FOB lads.

Making the announcement on Facebook, the band said:

“the moment where a shadow lets you know where the sun was streaming in. the odd place where light and dark meet. there is a threshold. we all can feel it – it is something palpable… the idea that no matter how much an animal is domesticated – there is something wild in it. declawed but we take/make the best monsters. we semi-civilize them. we put bears in suits on tricycles.

“we keep wolves warm from the winter in hen houses. then we wonder why they maul the hearts of what we hold the most dear. but make no mistake you brought them into your house and thought they could become a pet. we have infiltrated you. now we are inside you like a disease. this is a modern love story – coming together and unraveling all at once….”

Which does help to slightly understand this incredibly strange music video released for the track, though it is still confusing and makes less sense to us with each view.

‘AB/AP’ is the perfect track for Fall Out Boy to debut a new punk sound to their audience as it will no doubt be successful!

The group are an incredible talent, who we believe will reach great success with their newest track and we wish them all the best!

Make sure you take a look of the video below:

We’d cross Bridges for EofE!

On November 15th, EofE returned to Birmingham for their very own headline tour, much to the delight of their dedicated fans, most of which waited over 8 hours to see the lads perform.

The Black Country based band came to perform a sold-out show in Birmingham as part of their Unleashed Tour, which comes after the lads supported McBusted and The Vamps only month before.

The group, consisting of Luke, Nicky, Tom, Reece and last, but certainly not least Dan (Left to Right), entertained the highly dedicated group of fans in the sold-out, packed venue with a range of original and cover tracks, including ‘If Only Your Boyfriend Knew’ and Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’.

However, before the young pop rocks graced the stage with their incredible performance and addicting stage presence, Of Kings and Captains, The Fuse and McFly’s Danny Jones’ sister VIX, all of which wowed the ecstatic crowd with their support sets.

The venue became completely deafening when the lads finally emerged on stage, kicking off with their debut single Lust, which reached number eight in the UK rock singles chart.

The lads energetic set featured a number of incredible tracks, all of which seemed to be fan favourites, judging by the crowds reactions as they erupted into cheers at the beginning of each track and proceeded to scream the lyrics back to the boys throughout.

The incredibly talented band made sure that the crowd were thoroughly entertained with a short rendition of Fall Out Boy’s ‘Sugar, we’re goin’ down’ straight after their lively performance of their own track ‘Kiss me like you mean it’ and a number of other tracks!

EofE rounded off their amazing performance with their newest release ‘Bridges’, which is available to download for free on the bands website – So make sure you check that out and download it while you can!

We definitely recommend going to see the EofE lads live as they have a bright future ahead of them, with a possible debut album on the way and an already impressive arsenal of tracks; no doubt it’ll be an incredible night much like this one!

Vote for your favourite member of Stereo Kicks!

This year has been a pretty eventful one! And even more so with Series 11 of The X Factor!

Stereo Kicks

And how could we not mention the AMAZING new 8 piece boyband: STEREO KICKS, consisting of (Above: Left to Right) Barclay, Jake, Chris, Casey, James, Tom, Reece and last, but not least Charlie.

The large boyband have divided opinions from the outset, after they were put together by Simon and the other judges.

The eight lads suffered an unsuccessful BootCamp experience as solo singers, before joining the growing list of groups that the show have formed including One Direction and Little Mix.

TONIGHT’S show saw Stereo Kicks saved by the public after a shock Elimination (On the Saturday night) with their rendition of Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) by The Backstreet Boys.

Unlucky for Jack Walton though as he was given the boot after getting the least public votes.

This got us Brumoters talking… WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE MEMBER OF STEREO KICKS? Another question which has divided opinion between us all … Casey or Tom, Jake or Chris, the list goes on YOU decide!

M.A.D – ‘Shotgun’

With the boyband phenomenon still sweeping the country, there are many young, next generation boybands appearing, wishing to steal the hearts of the teenage population.

Here at Brumotions, we are always on the look out for new music to tell all of you about so you can feast your ears on it, which helped us discover M.A.D, who you can also catch appearing in this weeks Brumotions Playlist of the Week!

M.A.D. for it: Band members Dan, Michael and Ben.

M.A.D, a trio made up of Dan Lewis from South Wales, Michael Sutthakorn from Northern Ireland and Ben ‘AB’ Pryer from London (Left to Right) – are back with their newest single ‘Shotgun’ after achieving incredible success in the Top 40 chart with their debut single ‘Toyboy’ and their second single ‘Fame & TV’, which were both released and achieved ONLINE!

Shotgun is bubblegum pop at its finest!

The track is likeable with a memorable and upbeat tune, which will leave a smile on your face and is perfect for a younger audience.

However, we can’t help but feel that the song is slightly repetitive and bland in comparison to other songs gracing the charts at the moment. We also notice their newest tune bares a close resemblance to ‘Angel with a Shotgun’ by The Cab.

With that being said, the band have boyish good looks, which combined with their inoffensive lyrics and energetic video with love declarations, leave many girls wishing they could ride shotgun with the band.

M.A.D have already amassed a large online following and are a group to watch out for this year! We are sure they will continue to grow as a band and produce a more mature sound that we are sure everyone will love (including us)!

Shotgun is out NOW! And can be purchased on ITunes!

Introducing Rewind…

1507644_479778588834021_2160013554140118462_n

Here at Brumotions it’s no secret that we LOVE a good boyband and we recently discovered a Scottish band with heaps of potential that will not disappoint… and yes ladies they have those cute Scottish accents that will send you giddy!

Rewind made up of James, Jack, Lewis, Ryan and Kieran (see below image, Left to Right) are beginning to take over the UK music scene with their cheeky personalities, great chemistry and just as incredible vocals.

1795319_479566232188590_4234388097277322879_o

This week we got the chance to see the band perform in Birmingham and we were very impressed with their mix of original songs and covers of crowd favourites including Robin Thicke’s – Blurred Lines, as well as their energetic performance and stage presence leaving many of the teen audience swooning and wanting to learn more about this new band who had previously gone relatively unheard of in the Birmingham area.

Rewind recently released a cover of 5 Seconds of Summer’s number one hit ‘She Looks So Perfect’ and have gone on to upload original songs ‘She Said’ and ‘Out Of My League’ which you can check out below.

We love what these boys are producing and it’s nice to see a band trying to ‘take on the world’ without TV Talent shows. Here at Brumotions we are looking forward to hearing more from this boyband in the near future, make sure to ‘Follow’ them on twitter, ‘Subscribe’ to their YouTube and ‘Like’ them on Facebook.

We love ALL of Kingsland Road

kingsland_rd_glam

One of our favourite boy bands, Kingsland Road have just dropped their new cover of John Legend’s All of Me.

At first we were a little apprehensive – to say the least – as the boys are known for their upbeat interpretations of songs – however, after listening (in Nandos might we add). We, at Brumotions absolutely love it and we know you will too.

Kingsland Road, made up of Jay, Josh, Connor, Matt and Thompson recently burst onto the music scene gaining a loyal following of fans known as KLanders. (find out a little more about them in our previous introducing post).

Their cover of All of Me will make you instantly smile with their infectious personalities which come across in the song and the video giving the slow song – The Kingsland Treatment.

Here at Brumotions, we have heard many covers of this song and Kingsland Road’s will not disappoint – they make the song their own with their on-point harmonies and great individual vocals, mixed with the use of ukulele and box drum giving the song an instant summery, feel good factor and something that’s a little bit different to the covers you are used to hearing.

With a combination of good chemistry, great style, dreamy good looks and those obvious cheeky personalities- and yes, we clocked that little wink to the camera -We think it’s clear that Kingsland Road are currently one of our favourite artists.

We can’t wait to see what the band have planned next as they are very talented… and it also helps that they’re rather attractive.
