Rixton – ‘Me and My Broken Heart’

Everyone LOVES a good boyband right?

Here at Brumotions, we have been trawling the internet to find some of the best new offerings in the boyband stakes and we rediscovered a band who have been on our radar for a few years – Rixton.

The band made up of Jake Roche – Singer and Rhythm Guitarist, Danny Wilkin – Bass/Keys & Backing Vocals, Charley Bagnall – Lead Guitarist & Backing Vocals and Lewi Morgan – Drums, burst onto the music scene with catchy pop song ‘Make Out’ last year and are back with their debut single said to make a splash both in the UK and The States ‘Me And My Broken Heart’ released July 13th.

The band have gained a large online following through covers of pop songs such as Taylor Swift’s – ‘Trouble’ and Chris Brown’s – ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ which helped them get noticed and signed by Scooter Braun who has worked with the likes of Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson and one of our favourite boybands, The Wanted.

Me and My Broken Heart is a great, easy listening, pop tune which leaves you singing along for hours to come and it’s refreshing to hear that Rixton play their own instruments, meaning they are definitely ones to watch out for with more than just vocal talent.
The video is a good addition to the song telling the story of the bands plight to win the girl, but the boys are quickly caught up in a con, alongside a number of clips from an energetic, live performance.

However, after leaving the UK and focusing their musical efforts in the USA, we Brumoters can’t help but think ‘who are Rixton’ and what makes them different… we would like to see them live and maybe find out more!

Check out the track below and let us know what you think!

Nobody does it like Lawson!

Many teens flocked to OMG Live yesterday at the LG Arena – Forum Live stage, for the event which featured both up and coming musicians, DJ’s and some of the finest names in pop including Ollie Marland and Hollywood Ending, to name a few.

The event was also joint headlined with Union J, where the night ended with possibly the most attractive band in pop – Lawson.

The band, consisting of Joel, Andy, Adam and Ryan burst onto the pop scene after gigging around the country and gaining a dedicated following of Geese (yes- the animal).

The band worked up the crowd with their high energy performance giving the venue an electric atmosphere. Fans were ecstatic to see the band after their time away from the spotlight to write their new material in which Front man, Andy Brown promises will be great.

Lawson make their performances look effortless, mixed with their great vocals and contagious personalities and stage presence just shows they belong on the stage, entertaining their adoring fans.

Lawson captivated the mainly teen female audience, with an array of their hits including, first single ‘When She Was Mine’, ‘Brokenhearted’ and ‘Learn to Love again’ mixed in with a surprise mash up cover of Swedish House Mafia’s – ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ and Flo Rida’s -‘Good Feeling’ which left the crowd wanting more.

The boys seemed stunned by the crowd reaction to their third single, Standing in the Dark, where they stopped and listened to the crowd sing the verse and chorus before continuing to play, showing their appreciation to the fans.

Unfortunately, their set list only consisted of 6 songs, which left us wanting more of Lawson.  The event felt a little rushed near the end as it was running over schedule meaning many had to leave early missing Lawson’s most recent single ‘Juliet’ which was a great ending to a great set.

The Vamps – ‘Last Night’

Last_Night_The_Vamps

The Vamps made up of Brad, James, Connor and Tristan are the ones to watch out for this year!

They are rapidly becoming the next big British (boy)band with their legion of loyal teenage fans supporting them endlessly.

They have created quite a stir in the UK and America and were recently crowned MTV’s Brand New for 2014 winners.

After their success with ‘Can We Dance’ and ‘Wild Heart’ charting in the top ten of the UK single charts, The Vamps are back with ‘Last Night’ which was released…last night (What a coincidence).

Last Night is one of those immediately catchy songs which has you singing … and if you’re like us dancing around your room and mumbling the lyrics for hours afterwards.

The instant ‘oh, oh, oh’s’ put you in a great, feel good mood and Brad’s cheery up beat vocals leave you wanting to listen over and over again.

“Wake up in the morning with the sunlight in my eyes, no my head don’t feel so bright, what the hell happened last night” sets up a light hearted and care free party vibe and teamed with the video, leaves fans wanting a night out with The Vamps.

Fans of the quartet were also ecstatic over the addition of vocals from Bassist, Connor – although his vocals are difficult to tell apart from lead-singer Brad.

Whether you are a fan of The Vamps or not, Last Night is just one of those songs you will instantly be singing along to.
